Update: Final plane from Wuhan lands at CFB Trenton Tuesday morning
BELLEVILLE – The final plane from Wuhan, China landed at Canadian Forces Base Trenton Tuesday morning with 130 Canadians evacuees and 58 accompanying family members on board.
The new arrivals will stay at the base for 14 days and undergo the same medical procedures as the 213 Canadians, who arrived Friday.
None of the first arrivals are showing signs of the novel coronavirus, according to Saturday’s press release from Global Affairs Canada.
“We are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our guests, personnel, and our local communities,” said CFB Trenton’s Wing Commander Col. Ryan Deming. “The risk of community (members getting the virus) remains low.”
There have been seven confirmed coronavirus cases in Canada. Four are in British Columbia and three are in Ontario.
